LEZIONI

ETILICHE

A Drunken Lesson is a performative didactics event in which a group of people engages in a collective philosophical discussion on a given theme. Each participant is asked to get drunk during the discussion, and at the same time keep their focus on the chosen topic. The drinking must be performed by everyone each time a new concept is introduced in the discussion.

The original Drunken Lesson was performed as my final student project during the university course held by Cesare Pietroiusti at IUAV, Venice, in 2008. Since then, Cesare and I have performed it several times, together and separately, in diverse venues across Italy and Europe.

2008—ongoing

THE TRUE

ARTIST

Once, as an art student, I was wandering through the torn down installations of an ended Venice Biennale and I found the original label for Bruce Nauman’s piece The True Artist Helps The World by Revealing Mystic Truths (Window or Wall Sign) among the leftover scraps of the United States Pavilion. I kept the label as a decoration in my room for some time, and then I installed it at the bottom of a pitch-dark basement in Cripta 747, Turin, and gave guided tours through the basement, to read the caption in the dark.
